Facilities & Sponsors
We have custom built our site to meet our specific needs ensuring we have plenty of space for our residents animals and animals needing temporary care and medical attention. This means each species we work with has custom facilities providing the best opportunities for successful rehabilitation and release. Our site is still a work in progress and we are very grateful to the sponsors and everyone that supports our work.
Unfortunately we are not open to the public as we often have very ill and potentially contagious animals on site. In order to maintain a quiet, restful and as natural an environment as possible for the animals in our care we keep the human contact they experience to a minimum.
Please scroll down for a peek at our facilities and click through to see our generous sponsors. If you would also like to sponsor our work please send us an email to see how we may be able to work together.
Cabin Enclosures
Our main cabin consists of several rooms with areas to treat and house the sick and injured wildlife that we admit daily. There are incubators for our smallest patients and those that need extra warmth to help them with their recovery.
Cattery
Our cattery consists of 10 pens for housing the stray and feral cats that we rescue every year. Each of the 10 pens has an internal sleeping area with upper and lower levels for the cats to jump up and down. They have a cat flap with access to another room with a scratching post and climbing equipment. They also have a window and heater for natural light and warmth.
Large Mammal Enclosures
We have 6 indoor enclosures in our predator building (named Belle’s Place) for large mammals and 4 outdoor enclosures for foxes and badgers, which are in use all year round. The outdoor enclosures are inspected daily and enrichment is provided for the foxes and badgers so that the environment is as close to their wild habitat as possible.
Small Mammal Enclosures
Our new hedgehog cabin has 20 hedgehog enclosures, 9 rabbit and hare enclosures and 1 bat tent. Small mammals have this purpose-built enclosure suited to their needs, with space for them to be fed, weighed and treated.
Bird Aviaries and Flights
There are a variety of different bird aviaries and flights at the sanctuary, from our pigeon loft, to buzzard, owl and corvid flights. We have our main gull enclosure and enclosures for various sea birds that we rescue including gannets and black-headed gulls. We also have our waterfowl enclosures for birds such as swans, geese and ducks that are at the sanctuary for rehabilitation.
